IRATE members of the Association of Former Transition Councillors Committee in Anambra State have threatened to vote out the incumbent the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano, should he fail to pay their entitlements owed them since 2013.
A communiqué by the association made available to newsmen by its Public Relations Officer, Okwu Nwanne, after an emergency meeting in Awka, stated that the money owed was since the administration of ex-governor, Peter Obi.

The statement reads: “We are dismayed the way the Obi and Obiano governments used us for their elections and dumped us. We make bold to say that this government has failed the entire people of Anambra State.
“We were appointed by Mr. Peter Obi in 2011 and our appointments were signed by former secretaries to the State Government, Chief Paul Odenigbo and Mr. Oseloka Henry Obaze which was eventually ratified by the Anambra State House of Assembly.

“During a meeting with one of the members of APGA BOT, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka at Rojenny Tourist Village, Oba, the Special Adviser to governor Obiano on Political Matters, Mr. Chinedu Obidigwe promised to ensure that our entitlements would be paid.
“We are saying that if other political appointees in the state like Secretary to the State Government, Commissioners, Special Advisers, among others have received their entitlements, the appointed councillors also qualified to receive their entitlements.”
